My name is Michael Shavel. I've been a photographer for over 30 years. I worked for the New York Times as a photographer for over 10 years. I've also been published in The Boston Globe, The Associated Press and various books and magazines.
I’m currently working in the Triangle and Triad areas in NC; Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Contact me about doing a fun, relaxing portrait session today.

Fact 1
My sessions are casual and relaxed either in my comfortable studio or on location nearby. My Cattle dog "Joe" is often with me on shoots. He's friendly and loves treats!

I have a deep love of Black and White Photography. I shoot color but will always offer Black and White versions to all clients.

I am a music lover, drummer and computer programmer. I've been in Carolina for over 15 years but I am originally from New York and love visiting NYC whenever I can.
